July 30 EXPRESS NOT WITH LIMITEDSo EXPRESS has spun off from the Limited Brands. And yes, they changed their return policy. There's no longer a requirement to hand over your driver's license, when doing returns - unless of course you don't have a receipt. I guess they’ve learned that you can't do what ever you want to your customer and expect loyalty. EXPRESS maybe, but they may still be financially attached to the limited. I'll continue to watch. But for now, DON'T SHOP AT THE LIMITED!!!!!!!
September 19 Don't Shop At the Limited EitherToday, I went by Ross Dress for Less and found a real bargin in pants for $16.99. I bought the pants, like I normally do - two pair in-fact However, on my way out, I stopped to read the refund policy. Was I surprised? Yes. Without a receipt and possibly with a reciept, you'll have to produce a valid driver's license and they will enter your personal information into their database. Orwell's big brother is alive and well here in the U.S. of A. June 05 Your Identity is Not Your OwnFrom the Hippa Laws to the Blitz of Cities and States pouring information onto the internet, your identity is not your own. In decades gone by, Americans lived with some anonymity. We could move from place to place, shop, buy, make telephone calls, send mail, see a doctor and even get a discount at a local grocery store - all without concern for who was watching and who might be collecting information on our every move. Unfortunately, those days have past and here we are in the 21st century, our privacy slowly being eroded - this, all in the name of progress. Progress to what end? So far, I've been able to keep my identity out of reach of many, but time is getting short and no one out there is paying attention. Soon, there won't be anything to stop the onslaught and we'll all be wishing we had done something sooner. So the next time you take out the discount card that you signed up for at the grocery store, or you take out your driver's license to show some agency who you are, or your present your insurance card to the receptionist at the doctor's office, or even make a simple telephone call, just remember all that data is being collected on you and some day may just be used in a way that may be adverse to your liking.
May 16 Check Out Complaints on The Limited BrandsCheck out these links to The Limited Complaints. And do us all a favor, and DON'T SHOP AT THE LIMITED.
Don't Shop At The LimitedThe other day, I spoke to my sister who found a web site where many former customers of The Limited had complaints. As soon as she finds the site, she will e-mail me and I will bring it to you. If you've read my previous blog, then you know that The Limited is forcing customers to give over their driver's licenses before they can obtain a refund (regardless of whether or not you have a receipt - cash or otherwise). Personally, I value my privacy, especially in an age of identity theft. I don't want my personal information in the hands of teenagers at a specialty store. The ugly part of this scenario is that your state probably has allowed private firms like The Limited to access the magnetic strip on the back of your license. In my opinion, this is too much information. At least the state of Texas has been wise enough not to allow this type of invasion. My advice to anyone who will listen: DON'T SHOP AT THE LIMITED. Then tell them why you don't.
